Ntimaru sub-county police has arrested a Kitale based suspected conman and two others over plot to con Internally Displaced Persons in the area.

Area police boss John Losia said said Raphael Eyanai was held and released with others after they received “complaints from members of the public that they have been conned cash by impostors.”

Sadly, nobody came forward to official raise any complain and the suspects were “released on a Sh5,000 police bond awaiting investigations.”

IDPs led by Nyanza region chairman Nelson Owegi said the group had opened offices in Ntimaru town where they were conning people an average of Sh3,000 to be included in list of those to benefit from government funds.

He claimed before arrest the group had made over Sh300,000.
