Ndiege: No nepotism in Suna West CDF tender allocation

By MN Reporter

Suna West MP Joseph Obeiro Ndiege has denied complaints by a section of his constituents over nepotism in CDF tender allocation.

Claims have emerged that most tenders from the constituency are being awarded to either relatives or cronies of the legislator.

An insider from the Constituency office who talked to the press on conditions of anonymity said that the legislature dictates   the distribution of tenders in which most of the beneficiaries are his close relatives.

“Tendering procedure is further flouted as there is no advertisement done since the contractors are handpicked by Ndiege,” the source said.

But Ndiege refuted the claims insisting they are propaganda used by his political detractors “to derail my development agenda.”

He stated that most of the projects done by the CDF in the constituency especially on construction of a class for example is less than ksh.500, 000 which does not require tendering process.

“Most of the CDF allocations to the schools are given to the school heads and they cannot force them to follow the tendering process,” he said.
