From the humble begging of selling groundnuts in Kehancha town, John Chacha Mosabi aka Mnati, has insisted on taking a second stab at Bukira East MCA seat.
If there is any definition of being an hustler, Mnati is a true epitome of the same as he started selling groundnuts in Kehancha town before graduating to selling charcoal from Narok county across Kuria towns.
“I was born in Kehancha town and i have been employed for five years before i joined music and my name Mnati stuck with me as i used to produce my music in Nairobi as i tried to make meaning of life,” Mnati told Migori News.
In 2015, the businessman who runs several pubs said youths and residents approached him to vie for Bukira East MCA seat and he went for the Jubilee Party ticket in primaries.
“I won the Jubilee Party ticket, and in general election i came third after the current MCA Mathews Chacha won. I have given him time to deliver and because their is disgruntled votes i will be in the ballot again in 2022,” Mnati said.
He said he has been closer to voters through ensuring bursaries are given apart from social contributions despite his loss in last polls.
“Kehancha town is the biggest town in Kuria but garbage collection, lack of security lights in backstreets and road opening have been a big problem despite us paying taxes, these are areas i will seek to address,” Mnati said.
He said he will also ensure water system in the town and building of ECDE classes, all functions of county government are streamlined.
“Before devolution we have steady water supply under the council, we only need a leader who can raise voters complains and demands in relevant office for action which we currently lack,” he said.
He said among his main agenda will be to offer youths opportunities in employment and business not only in county government but national government and other stakeholders
BIG DREAMS FOR YOUTHS
Mnati said he pick his inspiration from Deputy President William Ruto who rose from being a chicken seller and selling roasted maize by the roadside to his current status.
“I wish to tell fellow youths to always work hard at their dreams no matter how small they start, by working constantly we will achieve our dreams. I always leave my house before dawn and come way deep into the night when i need to complete my projects,” Mnati said.
He said he was confident for seating in the third Migori County Assembly as an elected leader.
