#MigoriDecides: Obado, a former teacher, challenge more teachers to be in ballot in 2022

Migori governor Okoth Obado has urged more teachers to be in the ballot in the forthcoming general elections in 2022.

He said just like teachers always remain united in the fight for their rights and welfare, the trait gives them an added advantage towards leadership.

“Leadership positions do not dictate on who should get them in terms of occupation and teachers should aim higher by joining in the national politics more so in elective seats,” said Obado.

He was speaking to officials from the KUPPET office, especially aspirants in the forthcoming polls who visited him at his Rapogi home.

The group visited the former secondary high school principal to condole with him after the loss of his mother Leonora Obado.

Obado said teachers should realise and be encourage to take part in national politics.

“You are at a better position since you have started politics by vying for positions in the union to advocate for teachers welfare at the county level and this should not be the end of your journey,” he said.

“Take every opportunity of leadership with the seriousness it deserves to serve the nation.” He added.

He however appreciated the support he has received from teachers during what he termed as he low moments.
