North Kamyakago ward, where governor Okoth Obado hails from, will be political battle field with campaigns already taking shape ahead of 2022 general elections.

Clement Obar, an aspirant in last general elections who left it out to the incumbent George Omamba after protracted ODM primaries said he was keen to take up the seat.

“I left and supported Omamba, but he has failed and mismanaged the ward in development,” Obar said.

Speaking to Migori News in a special interview, Obar said he has been keenly mobilizing grass root support and is keen in getting through to represent the biggest ward in Uriri constituency.

“Last time we had the euphoria of Obado as a governor which supported Omamba, this time after fighting his political father he has to directly seek mandate of the people without hanging on anybody’s coat,” Obar said.

He said Obado’s personal assistant Caspal Obiero, who also eyes the seat will find it rough.

“I am sure of giving Obiero a political drabbing in the ward. I will wash my mouth with him and use Omamba to rinse it off,” he said.

According to Obar, he has managed to employ over 50 youths from the ward under an empowerment programme at the Export Processing Zone Nairobi where he works as a clearing and forwarding agent.

He said he has also helped 10 widows acquire homes in the area and helped Nyamasare Health Center acquire medical equipment worth Sj900,000.

“We have also managed to construct permanent pit latrines at Kaduogo, Nyamasare, Oria and Anding’o markets,” he said.
