Migori town residents led by Migori Business Community have raised alarm over frequent power outages.

Speaking to Migori News, they said their businesses have been suffering heavy loses over frequent power cuts.

“We are grappling with slow economy caused by Covid 19, then Kenya Power adds insult to injury,” Jared Omondi the owner of a welding business in the heart of Migori town said.

omondi said over 20 employees he controls go hungry whenever there is a major power outage in a working day which is now common.

Omondi called on the power providing company to ensure power is not interrupted during business working hours as the only way of reviving struggling power-depended businesses at the time of the pandemic.

Migori County Kenya Power Business Manager George Nyambare who didn’t want to speak on camera said they are dealing with many illegal power connections as part of the solutions to end power outages.
