ODM leader Raila Odinga has lauded Migori county for being the epicenter of revolution in the country during last year heated elections.

Raila said he was indebted to Migori county for pushing through revolution by opposition that forced through government to hold talks with them.

“Migori was the epicenter of NASA revolution.  Even when BBC interviewed me they asked me where people from Migori came from, I want to say thank you in a special way to Migori,” Raila said.

Raila said for the benefit of handshake he will ensure that he pushes through compensation of victims of police brutality in last bloody demonstrations.

“Above all I will ensure through the handshake I had with presidents stalled projects in the county like the Migori-Muhuru roads and other tarmac roads are cleared,” Raila said.

His sentiments was shared by Siaya senator James Orengo and Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo who said Migori county will always hold a special place in the opposition.

“When we were busy demonstrating in Nairobi, Migori was always in the news for giving us morale in the fight,” Orengo said.

Uriri MP Mark Nyamita and Suna West MP Peter Masara said they were in good spirit during demonstrations as county residents joined them in the streets.

The two said victims of police brutality in Migori must be compensated by government.

Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala said Migori has benefitted the most from handshake and said those against the move “don’t know how painful it is to lose a relative in police brutality.”
