The lifestyle of more than 25,000 beneficiaries under Inua Jamii Cash Transfer in Migori County has significantly improved since the role out of the program.

Migori County director Social Services Benard Makotsi noted that beneficiaries with dependent children can now pay school fees and can considerably afford basic life needs which was not possible before the role out of state social benefit program.

Makotsi said the beneficiaries who include 70 + years age bracket and persons living with severe disability is under ambitious government program to improve the living standard of vulnerable people in the society.

He revealed that the Inua Jamii Cash Transfer beneficiaries have been enrolled under National Hospital Insurance Fund as part of the government program to improve their lives.

Makotsi was speaking during the launch of the County Migration of Regular Inua Jamii Cash Transfer at Migori Stadium on Friday.

However while addressing the same event, Migori County Director Social Services John Odinya regretted that some elderly persons who appear fit for the Inua Jamii Cash Transfer Program can’t be enrolled since they either lack national IDs or they under quoted their ages during registration.

He said national IDs is the main document needed while enrolling the beneficiaries into the program.
