MCA Ngoro to table motion releasing Sh210m Sony Sugar needs from county government

South Sakwa MCA Ken Ngoro has vowed to table a motion to follow up a pledge by Migori County government to loan Sh210million to Sony Sugar Company.

Speaking to Migori News on Wednesday, Ngoro said he will table the motion after the assembly comes from Christmas holiday recess.

“I have already instructed the clerk of the assembly on the motion which will seek the way forward after the last supplementary budget did not factor in the amount,” Ngoro said.

He said the company hopes for maintenance of for machines to revive the miller from her deathbed and revive the dying Awendo town.

The Company’s acting Managing Director James Oluoch said Sony needs immediate full or at least half maintenance so that it can process more tons of cane a day which will translate to more revenue hence stability of the company on its knees.

He was speaking last went when members of the Nyanza Regional Development Implementation, Coordination Committee (NRDICC) held at the company.

He said revealed that the company desperately needs close to Sh346 million to do thorough maintenance and attempts to get Sh210million from Migori county government has failed.
