Lwala Community Alliance aids floods victims in Nyatike

Lwala Community Alliance has come to the aide of over 600 household Nyatike affected by floods.

The organisation, in collaboration with Migori County Government health department donated various supplies to the affected community who are still camping at Ageng’a secondary school.

Dorine Awino community health system director at Lwala said they donated maize, beans, sugar and special flour for children and pregnant women.

 “We have also donated water filtering containers and water treatment tablets, as you know that when they are away from home they cannot get food and clean water as they would,” Awino said.

She added that “during our assessment we realized that following the flood many families have been affected some lost their homes, road are impassable and the affected families are in camp for their safety and the need food and accommodation.”

Dancan Arunda Migori County public health officer said that Kabuto and Nyora in Nyatike are notorious with floods and they are trying to put up intervention measures to ensures that the affected families go back to their normal life’s.

Arunda thanked Lwala Community Alliance for have donate food commodities to Nyatike flood victims.
