A woman from Kuria West sub-county has been arrested for suspected death of a KCPE candidate.

Sophia Kwamboka, 17, was killed after arriving home late from Mashujaa Day celebrations on Monday irking her guardian, Linet Biyaki, 30.

Neighbors told Migori News, the Tagare Primary School candidate came home from visiting her boyfriend at 2am following longstanding quarrel over the affair.

Suna East OCPD Mark Wanjala said the matter was reported at Isebania Police Station where Biyaki is being held after being arrested.

The matter was reported by administration at Tagare Primary School who wanted to get records to alert KNEC of a missing candidate.
