Kuria East MP Marwa Kitayama has said the local NG-CDF kitty has allocated Sh10million to set the first court in the area.

Kitayama said the move will save residents long distance they have to make to Kehancha Resident Magistrate and Migori High courts to seek justice.

“Some residents have to make up to 70 kilometers to seek justice which is very expensive in the long run,” Kitayama said.

He said elders and opinion leaders from Kuria East had already requested a court in Kegonga town and the amount will ensure the Judiciary chips in to help finish the court.

He said once established, the court will help spur development through law firms and court staff and clients seeking services from locals.
