Migori emerging academic giant St. Peter Abwao Secondary has remained bullish of maintain an upward trend in good performance in the county.

The extra-county school has maintained the top ten position in the county in four consecutive years with the principal Jacktone Onyango Ogola saying they are positive the results will improve further.

“We have left a mark in the county as a top performer and we are always on the limelight against established giants, we are sure of cementing this trend,” Ogola said.

In the just released Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education results by Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has 6.09 mean grade down from 7.11, but still maintained their top ten county position.

“Last year we managed to have 49 out of 105 candidates scoring C plus and above which was up by one the previous year, we target over 60 this year,” Ogola said.

He said they have set a target of getting a mean grade of 8.11.“We have already set the ground running by having a meeting with teachers to include all stakeholders to achieve our goal and own up the results,” he said.

Among the measures put in place is early syllabus coverage, maintaining discipline and quality and frequent examinations.

He said the school needs at least four classrooms and a dormitory with a capacity of 200 students as they expect to have a population of over 870 students with the new expected form one intake standing at 360 boys.
