Kanyawanga High alumni raise Sh600,000 bursary for needy students

Over 60 bright and need students at Kanyawanga high school in Rongo Sub County are set to benefit from Ksh.600,000 bursary from the Kanyawanga School Alumni association.

The association treasure Mr.Mark Okundi said the initiative which began last years has been occasioned by high number of need students joining the school who have had their learning interrupted because of lack of school fees.

He said last years they managed to collect Ksh.360,000 which they gave out as bursary to 60 bright and needy students

Mr.Okundi added that the alumni is planning to come up with Kanyawanga Alumni foundation that will offer scholarship to bright and need students admitted at the school.

The Kanyawanga alumni association has also called on the government to improve infrastructures in schools saying that the 100 percent transition has strained the available facilities in the school.

Kanyawanga high school Principal Mr.Jacob Mbogo in his remark lauded the old boys for the initiative saying that there are many students in the school who can not afford to pay school fees.
