Timely response by Kuria West police officers patrolling Isebania town stopped a bank robbery on Thursday night.
Spirited gun fight by officers stopped robbers who had already gained entry at Kenya Women Finance Trust to abandon their attempt from the banking hall.
Kuria West OCPD Paul Kiogora said the police officers stopped the robbers before they could access the safe.
“Police officers on patrol got wind of the robbery and swung into action. We managed to repuls the robbery,” he said.
Kiogora said nobody was hurt during the incident which later led into a stampeded as residenrts thought they could get free cash.
He said they have launched a manhunt to arrest the suspects as Isebania town has recently hit headlines over increased cases of insecurity.
