Rongo MP aspirant John Zatta under Deputy President William Ruto’s UDA ticket has been instructed by doctors to take a break, even before official campaigns start.

Zatta has been missing on the ground for long and UDA office he opened with fanfare when Ruto visited the county has remained closed.

But speaking to the press over the phone, Zatta said he has been hibernating in Nairobi after advice from his doctors.

“My doctors told me to take a bed rest because my pressure was very high, and I had an accident earlier this year,” Zatta explained.

He claimed recently he distributed football jerseys, balls and cleaned the Rongo market which caused the incumbent Paul Abuor to intimidate his supporters.

He did not explain the kind of intimidation, which he said included police.

He said he will continue to perform his “political right and civic duty of cleaning markets.”

“We are intimidated ODM supporters they have told us hawataki madoadoa kwa ground,: he lamented.

But Abuor, speaking earlier said Zatta is afraid and he believes in democracy and will never intimidate his rivals.
