To cushion his 2017 senator bid in 2017 general elections, former speaker Gordon Ogola told Migori News he managed to raise Sh20million in less than an hour.

Ogola said when he told his friends he was keen be the second Migori senator after Ambassador Wilfred Machage, they raised the money.

“Most were my legal clients, business partners and supporters,” Ogola said.

He was speaking to Migori News in a special interview in his home in Kwa Ward.

“After leaving the speaker seat, most people thought i was down financially. The smooth campaigns we had was a shocker,” he said.

Among last general elections senator campaign aspirants, Ogolla had a well oiled campaign which co-funded a across section of MCAs, MPs and other county seat aspirants.

“On the ground we managed to have a steady campaign that reached the entire 40 wards in the county. ODM shambolic polls left us high and dry,” he said.

He said at the political parties tribunal he had managed to secure annulment of the results, but before he filed to be declared the winner the ticket was given to the late Okello.
