Awendo MP aspirant Walter Owino, commonly known as Awol Ja Awendo, has said he is sure of defeating Awendo MP Jared Kopiyo in 2017.

Contacting Migori News after we published an earlier story on Kopiyo’s defection from Ford Kenya to ODM earlier on Saturday (Read the story HERE), Owino said he was already on the ground to check on mistakes of last polls.

Owino said Kopiyo did not win on the premise of peace in last elections insisting he is a peaceful leader.

“What happened is that Kopiyo got sympathy votes from poor Awendoans and teachers because he made them believe that he was going to change their lives,” Owino said.

He said Kopiyo has failed in carrying out his pledges which makes him have a better chance of replacing him in less elections.

“Remember he campaigned for four years while I did it for less than 60 days. This time i am already on the ground,” he said.

In last polls Kopiyo won despite Owino getting the ODM ticket after protracted nominations.
