Kenyan fishermen were on Wednesday shocked after Tanzania security impounded two boats and arrested six fishermen off Kibro beach along Lake Victoria.

This comes after a visit by Tanzania president Samia Suluhu to the country came to an end after being seen off by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kibro Beach Management Unit chairman Joel Maulidi said the arrested fishermen and boats were taken to Sota beach “we were told they have to pay Sh50,000 for each boat to be released which is a total of Sh100,000.”
