Govt to speed up Sh200m tarmacking of Nyarach-Rangwe road, other Rongo roads too- Abuor

Rongo MP Paul Abuor has promised government will speed up a Sh200million road upgrade to bitumen standard in his constituency.

Speaking to Migori News in Migori town on Tuesday, the legislator said government will “fast-tracking of the process of sourcing for a contractor for the upgrading of Nyarach—Ndege Oriedo- Oboke-Rangwe Road to Bitumen Standard.”

“This Project was allocated 200M in this financial year’s Budget,” he said.

He was speaking after attending a meeting of Migori County Development Implementation Coordination Committee (CDICC) at the County Commissioner’s Office.

He said the committee will pass through the urgency of the road to national committee chaired by Interior CS Fred Matiang’i.

He said other roads in progress for tarmacking are the Riosiri-Rongo University-Cham Gi Wadu- Ogwedhi-God Jope Road.

“We also proposed a spur the road linking Ranen to Cham Gi Wadu from the main Kisii-Isebania Road,” he said.

The meeting was attended by Migori Deputy CC Kibe Maguti, Migori Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU) Director Onguso Ochengo, KERRA Deputy Director General Eng. Joash Michoma and Eng. Moses Kiprono, Kerra Project Manager in charge of Riosiri-Cham Gi wadu Road among other Senior National Government Officials.
