Ghati, sister Bevin to face off for Migori Woman Rep seat in ODM vs UDA showdown

ODM nominated MP and former Migori Woman Rep Dennitah Ghati will have a sibling rivalry to content with as she seeks to reclaim her seat back in the 2022 general elections.

Ghati and her younger sister Bevin Angela Bhoke, who will vie under Deputy President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket have both declared interest for the seat.

The two former journalists seek to replace Dr. Pamela Odhiambo, the current seat holder who floored Ghati in last elections. Odhiambo has set her eyes on the governor seat.

Ghati sits at the national governing council of the ODM party which nominated her to parliament, while Bevin is Ruto’s close ally in Migori bringing the siblings rivalry to a mini presidential poll showdown.

“I will be going for Woman Rep seat. I am a good communicator and all the companies that contracted me have had no regrets. I feel fit the bill to run for the seat,” Bevin told People Daily.

Bhoke once worked as communication director with the defunct Commission on Implementation of the Constitution.She holds a bachelor’s degree in Development Communication and masters in  Communications from the University of Nairobi.

Besides the Ghatis , others interested in the seat are Sheila Ghati, wife of  veteran journalist Rashid Ronald. Sheila is also the Migori Public Service Executive. 

Also in the race are Rebecca Ghati, Water Executive and business lady, Sophie Dhibra, all from Kuria Community.
