HEADS ROLLING: Migori county assembly

Members of Migori County assembly have unanimously approved the names of members of county executive committee (CEC) to serve for the next five years.

The list of nine out of 10 members was tabled in parliament yesterday after vetting that was done last month.

The list exempted Sheila Ghati (Public Service Management and Administration) over what assembly Speaker Boaz Okoth said in an earlier interview was a “slight problem.”

If the CEC members agree to take up the job and are sworn in, they will serve under the following dockets.

Kephas J. Nyamita from Rongo will serve as Minister for Environment and Disaster Management, Isca A. Oluoch from Awendo CEC health and Rebecca Ghati Maroa from Kuria West as minister for Water and Energy.

Moses Chamwada from Uriri will serves as CEC for Public Works, roads and transport as Kuria East’s Samson Maginga Ng’ariba will be serving as CEC for Education, Culture, Sports, Gender and Social Services.

Scholarstica Atieno Abiero from Nyatike will serves as CEC Finance and Economic planning and Valentine Diang’a Ogongo from Suna West in Agriculture, Veterinary, Livestock and Fisheries.

Elizabeth Ochaye, Awendo and Elijah Odhaimbo, Suna East will serve under Trade, Tourism and Co-operative Development department as well as Lands, Housing and Urban Development respectively.
