Fear as businessman is killed in Ikerege, Kuria

An armed police officer on Monday with armed youths along Kuria-Luo border after three people were innjured during clashes

Residents of Ikerege in Kuria West are living in fear following the death of a renowned businessman.

Patrick Gati also known was shot and killed by armed gunmen yesterday.

According to Isibania OCPD Jacob Walukhu, Gati was killed few meters from his retail shop in the town center.

Walukhu said there were no clear reasons for the death of the business man but said investigations are on to get to the bottom of the death.

The OCPD also said that they were following credible leads that would lead to the arrest of the culprits.

This comes amidst reports of illegal guns in the Kuria region which are mostly used for cattle rustling.

Last year, the Government conducted a disarmament exercise in Kuria East and Kuria West sub-counties which was ordered by Nyanza regional Commissioner Moffat Kangi.
