Kuria West MP Mathias Robi has promised that Deputy President William Ruto will soon visit Kuria region on September and officially open the new Kenya Medical Training College at Kehancha.

He said so far the new college has set out to be opened after a recent meeting which agreed to employ the first batch of new 50 students, divided into half for both genders.

The new college will add the current 42 campuses across the country which with over 23,000 students.

“The DP promised to open the college, we have with speed and I have promised to allocate Sh10million from CDF kitty to jump start the college,” Robi said.

He said the new college and another Technical Training Institute being built at Kubweye in his constituency, first in the region since independence, are due to the community closeness to jubilee administration.

“We will help put up hostels, libraries and lecture halls for the students. In the next academic year we will be up and running,” he said.

At the same time the county government through Health Executive Elijah Odhiambo pledged Sh20million in the current financial to set it up and promised the new college will work closely with another based in Migori town.

Philip Kaloki, the chairman of KMTC board said the campus has already been included in intake of the next batch of students and will boost services at Kehancha District Hospital to offer clients services in Narok and Migori counties and even Tanzania.
