Fear as national examinations have kicked in have been heightened after a  girls’ dormitory at Nyaduong’ Mixed Day Secondary School in Suna East sub-county was on Tuesday morning burnt.

Suna East sub-county commissioner Denis Mutiso said electric fault might have caused the fire which was noticed by a cook while students were in class.

He said no student was hurt during the incident but several items belonging to the student were burnt and the dormitory was salvaged from being completely destroyed.

“Villagers, students and teachers managed to put off the fire before it could spread to other areas. No student was hurt during the melee,” Mutiso said.

He said they are on high alert across the county to arrest similar incidents.
