Dennitah Ghati at a past function in Migori town recently

Migori Women Representative Dennitah Ghati will help launch a county sacco for women groups involved in table banking.

Ghati said the new Sacco will target over 5,000 women groups in Migori currently involved in the activity as a followed of a success launch by Deputy President William Ruot’s wife launch in the county on February.

“Most of the groups have been involved in informal table banking and we have so far trained 11 grups in each eight sub-counties to help benchmark formation of the county,” she said.

Ghati said the new Sacco will be launched before the end of this year.

Late last month the office helped launch the Dede Progressive Women Sacco which will cover Awendo sub-county with similar launch expected to launch others soon.

“We will launch a Sacco for each sub-county before launching an umbrella one for the all county,” she said.

She pointed out that her office will work with Migori County Government to help in launch, training of members to establish the seed capital and membership base.
