Migori Senate aspirant Dalmas Otieno has officially bowed of of Senate race, Migori News can confirm.

Otieno has opted out of the race and taken up an appointment by the national government to represent Public Service Commission in the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.

This is just hours to when Otieno was to present himself to the Independent Electoral and boundaries Commission for clearance to run for Senate seat in October 8.

Otieno was to run on National Liberal Party after he fell out with ODM upon appointment of Ochillo Ayacko to fly the party’s flag in the coming by-election.

In a phone interview, Otieno said he had already started the vetting process for the SRC job.

“Am not in the race now for the senate job, I’ve started the vetting process for the salaries and remuneration commission,” Otieno said.

He added, “This is an appointment that has been pending since February so they were just waiting for the chair (SRC).”

He said he was lucky to have two jobs but opted for one.

“The decision was made yesterday that take the SRC and other candidates go for the senate seat,” Otieno said.

Otieno however urged the other candidates well in the senate by-election.
