Migori senator Ochillo ayacko as termed as being humbled after elders from minority Kuria community installed him as an elder and blessed his 2022 governor bid.
Ayacko, who was given the Kuria name ‘Mwita’ has said he is greatly indebted by the gesture by the elders and Migori county for continously standing with him.
“I’m specifically enthused by the additional accolade granted to me by the Abakuria Council of Elders,which reached it’s climax when I was crowned a Kuria elder and given blessing to seek gubernatorial elections in 2022,” Ayacko said in a press statement.
“I’m forever indebted to the great people of Migori county,on whose favor,generosity and support,I enjoy the rare privilege to serve as Senator for Migori County,” he added.
He said Migori is a cosmopolitan county with diverse ethnic,economic and social identities and interests which makes his installation as an elder from Kuria as a blessing.
He said to reciprocate the gesture by Kuria elders and the move that Migori is cosmopolitan county, he promised that his “deputy or running mate will be a member of the Kuria community.”
Already several members of the Kuria community have come forward not only to seek the Deputy Governor position, but to also push through the community agenda in the forthcoming administration in case Ayacko wins.
“At the most appropriate and opportune time,the nominated candidate for DG will be unveiled and formally presented to the public,” Ayacko promised.
