Ayacko Opened A Personal Secretariat in Rongo, Not ODM Office- Abuor

By MN Reporter

Rongo MP Paul Abuor has watered down as inconsequential last week attempt to open a parallel ODM party offices in his constituency.

Speaking to Migori News over the phone, Abuor said Migori governor Ochillo Ayacko lost focus in pushing development for voters but instead chose to push divisive politics instead.

“What happened last week in Rongo was Ayacko opening his personal secretariat and not a party office since Rongo elected chairman, secretary and treasurer did not attend that function,” Abuor said.

He said he was firmly in the ODM party and a decision to work with the government and president William Ruto did not mean he has decamped from the orange party.

“Even the ODM party wrote to us over the matter and we explained our position, who is Ayacko?” Abuor asked.

Abuor asked the governor to try and look for any development project to launch , even if it is digging a pit latrine, next time he visits Rongo.

“We will be happier if he comes to launch a project in Rongo instead of choosing to start immature party politics,” Abuor said.

Last week, governor Ochillo Ayacko and county party leadership led a move to open ‘new party offices’ in the two constituencies, a move seen as a political counter against the two legislators.

Last week while speaking in Rongo when opening the offices, Ayacko said the two legislators were leaving the party and looking for means to weaken the party even though nobody had chased them away.

“ODM party unity will not be destroyed, if we don’t salvage our party we risk losing our unity which binds us across tribes and clan,” Ayacko said.
