A total of 7,471 youths in Migori will benefit from Kazi Mtaani in a project officially launched by county commissioner Meru Mwangi said.

Mwangi said an additional 251 will be engaged as supervisors.

Mwangi said over Sh300million will be used in the sanitation program in three months of June, July and August 2022.

“This is one of government’s moves to cushion its people from hunger, poverty and unemployment especially from those affected by Covid 19,” Mwangi said.

He said the project will cover unclogging of pavements and drainage, bush clearing in public places like hospitals and government offices.

“We will also expand pavements along the footpaths, garbage collection and disposal, seedling production and tree planting, and landscaping among other environmental beautification activities,” he said.

The area covered will be Migori, Awendo, Uriri, Kehancha, Isebania and Rongo towns among others.
