510 students from Central Sakwa ward, Awendo constituency have been awarded with Sh2million bursary from Migori county government.

The bursary was set aside for all 40 wards to support needy students in fee payment.

Area MCA Johnson Owiro they got a total of 910 applicants and the vetting process was competitively done.

A total of 350 secondary school students got Sh3,500 each, 104 college and university students got Sh4,500 each while special attention was given to Awendo Marindi Polytechnic where 48 students got Sh4,500 each.

Three per cent of the fund was to catered for expenses while a total of Sh1.94million has been distributed.
