The Rongo Resident Magistrate court has ruled that ten Karamajong aliens from Uganda should be deported back to their country for being in Kenya illegally.

The ten plead guilty to being in the country illegally when they appeared before the Senior Resident Magistrate  E.M. Njogu to answer charges of being in the country illegally contrary to Sec. 34 (1) as read with Sec 53 (1) (j) and 53 (2) of Kenya citizenship and immigration act number 12 of 2011.

The ten were: Mariko Loreje, Lukut John, Tekol Peter, Achia Lokorito, Lolei John, Omolo Paulo, Angol Andrew, Loyap Emanuel, Akoli Paulo and Akol Joseph.

Two witnesses; Naftali Mwende and Joseph Wambua, told the court the aliens arrived in Rongo on Saturday and were looking for a place to put up a business.

The two said they thought they were Luos and only got suspicious when they insisted in speaking Ugandan and spoke the strange Karamajong dialect which is closer to dholuo.

Rongo OCPD Mr. Thomas Ngeiywa said that the ten were caught residing at Angaga Hotel in Rongo, Central Kamagambo Ward.

He said that they have been very alert especially after what happened in Garissa which claimed 408 lives . He also urged the residents to be very keen and ready to report any suspicion.

Ngeiywa added that they have heightened surveillance in the region to ensure that nothing bad happens.

The court ruled that considering the EAC, they did not have any reason to detain the ten Karamajongs and ordered that they be repatriated back to their country of origin, Uganda
